Jerry focuses his practice on litigation and strategic IP counseling. Jerry has successfully litigated numerous complex intellectual property and commercial cases in federal courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). Prior to joining TKLG, Jerry was a partner at the litigation boutique Freitas Tseng & Kaufman LLP. Before that, he was a patent litigator at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
Jerry has represented leading foreign and domestic companies in high-stakes disputes involving a diverse range of technologies, including: semiconductor fabrication, semiconductor packaging, computer hardware, software, internet commerce, computer memory, circuit design, liquid crystal display, and LED fabrication. As a seasoned litigator, Jerry has extensive experience in formulating and directing case strategy, developing claims and defenses, executing fact and expert discovery, oral argument, and presenting witnesses at trial.
Jerry also has an active IP counseling practice and has advised companies of all sizes on how to protect and enhance their IP assets. In addition to helping companies develop their IP portfolio, Jerry provides strategic counseling on technology transfers, patent licenses, asset purchase agreements, risk assessments, and IP valuations. Jerry was previously Senior Counsel with United Microelectronics Corporation, where he developed strategies for patent portfolio management, licensing, and US litigation.
